Lobke Dijkstra – Bush camping: the best tips!

The nomadic existence is in my blood; countless times I was on out and about with my backpack and my tent, both in The Netherlands and abroad. I rode my bicycle along the Dutch coast all the way to Denmark. I discovered motorhome life by parking my house on wheels in Spain wherever I liked it for about six months. Later I lived in a camper on a farm in England. After years of living in temporary settlements around the world for work in development and emergency aid, I left my last home in Switzerland in 2016 for a motorcycle trip through South America. After a short stopover to change the engine, I set off in the direction of Vladivostok from Ulicoten in the Netherlands after attending Discover Overland in 2017.

The goal is completely unimportant to me; the journey is what counts. I choose consciously for long and slow travel. Wild camping is an elementary part of this. How do you choose a good camping spot for tent or camper? How do you ensure your safety and how do you stay healthy when you are on the road for a longer period of time? Many travelers would like to camp in the wild, but experience a big barrier; after my presentation with practical tips you will see that it is mainly a matter of doing!
