In 2017, he planned to visit a friend who has been working in Bangkok for years. And as a biker, if you have to choose between sitting 15 hours cramped on a plane or doing a 6 months long motorbike trip then you definitely choose the latter.
This story covers the journey from Flanders to Bangkok, through Iran, the stans to join a convoy that would take 30 days from Kazakhstan through the Chinese provinces of Sinkiang, Tibet, Yunan to Laos, to end the journey to Thailand.
A large part of this story is about what awaits you when travelling in convoy through China, obtaining the necessary documents , the specific rules , the numerous challenges, but also the everlasting bonds and friendships that have been formed during this convoy.
