Nadja’s husband was murdered in 2015 - 11 days after their first child was born. On that day, in the moment that her entire world collapsed, she made two promises - one was to not become hard and bitter and the other one was to show their daughter the world.
The two of them travelled for a year through Asia before settling back in at home, however the promise to show their daughter the world kept nagging at Nadja.
When she spotted the ad ‘Landrover for sale in Africa’ it sparked a fire deep inside of her. She followed her intuition, grabbed the opportunity and jumped into the deep-end. Four months later Nadja and Fleur set off to explore Southern Africa in their fully equipped Landrover Defender 110. They drove more than 30,000 km across nine countries in the Southern part of Africa. It turned out to be the most life-affirming year long adventure ever!
Nadja has only recently returned home and will now take you along with her and her journey across Asia and Africa where grief turned out to be the catalyst for life! She will talk about travelling alone with a young child, about trusting your intuition, about setbacks, resilience and courage. Her talk will be very personal and yet completely universal.
